•  If the office offers the facility of a dedicated car park to its employees and the visitors, then it becomes the management responsibility to ensure safety and security of the vehicles parked as also of the individuals using the car park. Car parks are prone not only to car thefts or thefts from the car but are also vulnerable to robberies and assaults on lone visitors and employees specially women at odd times.
•  It is therefore the management responsibility to have these car parks effectively guarded at all times to ensure security of the vehicles and safety of the employees and visitors.
•  Keep the car park well lit at night such that there are no dark spots or areas in the parking lot. This generally deters criminals or mischief mongers who hate to be spotted or seen. Security operations also become effective in well-lit areas.
•  CCTV and video cameras can also enhance the car park security and safety.
•  It will be desirable to start a token system to ensure that a vehicle is not taken away by an unauthorized person.
•  Automatic gates/barriers can be installed at the entrance and exit points of the car park in place of the token system for more reliability and ease of operation.

While the legal tenability of such a condition in a dedicated car park is doubtful, this policy may not make the management popular with the employees and the visitors.
