Young children not able to manage themselves
Generally, such children (infants, toddlers, mentally challenged, spastic etc) should remain in the company of the parents/guardian at all times as far as possible.
If you have to leave them home under circumstances beyond your control, they must be placed under the charge of a very reliable person well experienced in handling children. It will be ideal if the child has some recognition of this person.
Leave your contact number or telephone number of a close relative or friend for emergency contact.
If possible you should remain in touch with the person in charge of your child from time to time.
You should explain to the person in charge about various facilities and systems in the house which he/she may require to use in connection with the care of the child as also for his/her own requirements. For instance, arming or disarming the Control Panel(s88)of security systems, location of Panic buttons(s102), electricity switches and heating controls, food items, linen etc.
The attendant must be told not to talk to strangers or open the door to stranger, who can claim to be relative or friend. Attendant should also be told not to give up custody of child to anyone without your permission.
You must have a pre-fixed protocol with attendant so that attendant can positively identify you on the phone & accept instructions.
