•  Do not keep your hand baggage at any place other than overhead locker or under the seat in front of you. If you do not get space to keep your hand baggage in the aircraft, ask for the help of cabin crew in attendance.
•  Do not accept anyone's bag or package etc. for any reason unless you are absolutely convinced that it is a genuine emergency. There are instances where packages containing contraband goods, drugs or explosives etc. are handed over to innocent persons on some pretext and taken back after the checking at the airport.
•  Keep your passport, traveler checks, ticket and other travel documents on your person and not any other place where these may be left behind.
•  During long air journeys, one should walk down the isle once in a while for proper blood circulation. Consumption of good quantity of water is desirable whereas consumption of alcoholic drinks may not help. This also keeps you alert and you can cope up with emergencies better.
•  Immediately ask for the help of the cabin crew in case of any health or safety problem.
•  Keep your boarding card carefully and discard it only after you are out of the airport or have completed that part of the journey for which it was issued. (You may still want to keep it for claiming mileage towards Frequent Flyer Program)
•  While in transit at the intermediate airports, ensure that you have collected a transit boarding pass or if required by the crew cabin you carry your boarding card. Do not stray too far off from the gate of entry to your aircraft unless you are well acquainted with the airport.
•  If you are a transfer passenger, take care to collect back your passport, ticket and boarding card at the transfer counter.
