•  A system of frisking can also be introduced for the visitors if there is threat of sabotage or mischief apprehended by the management. If carrying of bags, brief cases, cameras etc. into the office is prohibited arrangements should be made for safe custody of these articles of the visitors.

•  Frisking of employees especially at the time of their exit is also in vogue. This can be done regularly, selectively or at random. It should be remembered that private security staff or employees do not have legal powers to conduct search of a person or place. To legalise searches of the employees, it is prudent to incorporate a clause in the service contract of all employees or in the conduct rules to this effect. Refusal to submit to a search by an employee would then become misconduct and can be dealt with as such. But, nevertheless, he cannot be forced to submit to a search.

•  Similarly visitors also can not be forced to a search unless their entry to the building is allowed subject to their consenting to be searched. Some shops have placards displayed to this effect at the entry points.
