Windows are common points of break-in entry and are most vulnerable part of the building. Majority of residential break-in occur through rear windows, AC ducts, cooler ducts. Windows & ducts that are on ground floor are most vulnerable or as well as those which are located close to drain pipes, trees etc. Sun shades and ledges may give foothold for access to roof and sky lights which would otherwise be out of reach. Single vulnerable windows should be protected by installing steel grills. Access through them is more difficult for the intruder. They are more effective if they are welded to the solidest part of the masonry. They should be permanent and should be constructed from 20 mm width 4 mm thickness steel (or similar cross-section) flats and fixed at an interval not exceeding 125 mm. It is important to have grills in front of coolers specially as coolers are relatively easy to remove from outside and could expose an open window for entry.
Intruder Alarm can warn in advance & pinpoint the problem area. Alarms help to wake up inmates, get attention from passerby and scares the intruders. These can even be used to protect grills as well as glass windows with help of Glass Sensors
