To choose an access control system, following parameters need to be considered:

How many entry / exit points are there?

How many personnel of different categories are to be identified

Duration and frequency of access

Is the capacity of the system adequate enough to handle the total number of cards used with the system

The number of Shifts

Is Time & Attendance necessary? Is it to be registered at the main gate or at the different entry / exit points in the complex?

If it is at the main gate, what will be the number coming in by walking, by cycle, by two wheelers, by cars etc.?

Any Logging and Transaction Reports needed?

Sensitivity of the installation to be protected, threat level etc.
